great little scale that was super useful in getting my tone arm balanced out. takes about 2 seconds to set up and it works exactly like you'd expect. honestly there is no need to spend more on a Force Scale as this little thingy will do what you need it to. You'll only use it every once in a blue moon so quality isn't really a huge issue. If you're working with Record Players all day, maybe buy a more expensive model. Otherwise, for at home purposes, this will do.
I would recommend this purchase. If you found this review helpful, please click the button below.

About 30 seconds to cut the tape, and open the package. Another 30 seconds to stack two batteries in their compartment, + side facing me, then sealing the compartment.
Unplug the turntable, press M on the scale, and cue the stylus to rest on the scale. Reading 2.8 grams for a DL-103 cartridge, another 30 seconds. Adjust my counterweight, get a reading of 2.55 grams. One more adjustment, get a reading of 2.4 grams. Finished!
In less than 2 minutes, I unpacked, powered up, and used this scale to calibrate my tonearm weight.
I'm going to say this is why the ladies call me Minuteman.
Fine product, more accurate than zeroing your tonearm, and rotating the numbered gauge to your setting. I feel foolish for not ordering one before.

Unit received as advertised.
Came with three batteries (but the unit only takes two, so one is a bonus), a storage pouch and what I believe is a 5g calibration weight (which I recently tried three times in sequence: 5.01g, 5.02g and 5.02g). One can select from a few different weight units to display (g, oz, ozt, TL, ct), some of which I never heard of, but a nice touch. Tried it with my turntable soon after receiving: taken 3 sequential measurements, ranging from 2.55g to 2.58g, so reproducibility seems quite good. Was surprised at the result, but as of this writing, don't have a reason to suspect that the issue is with the unit. Note to the wise: as the turntable platter can obviously freely rotate, once you have the centre of the gauge's weight plate closely aligned with the stylus, you want to hold the platter 'in place' as you slowly lower your stylus / cartridge, and hold it there securely while weight is taken -- otherwise there is a high risk that any platter movement can damage the stylus while its down.
I intend to take another series of measurements in the future, to see what the reproducibility is like. Overall, seems like a very good value, although I haven't tried any other such gauges. Only thing is that the packaging left a bit to be desired - seems like the unit had a bit more play inside the box than I would have liked.

The item came quickly and very well packed.
I like that it has a case and that it included 3 batteries.
Instructions are minimal but do the trick.
Battery orientation would have been nice.
I placed them with the positive side up and it worked great.
I verified that it read correctly with a turntable I had previously set up.
It was off. The package also included a calibration weight if required.
Would definitely recommend.

Arrived well packaged and in good condition. Set up was easy except I initially put the batteries in upside down. Measurements are easy to do and are repeatable at constant values in the 1.5 u2122 range I was measuring. Not sure how long the batteries will last as I just received the machine.

Getting back into vinyl and replacing all the gadgets I had years ago, I wanted a stylus gauge and recalled the aggravation of being down to check a mechanical version such as the model made by Shure. I realised things had moved on since the 80's so searched for a digital version and came across the Neoteck which I found very easy to use. Only complaint I have is that the plastic cover is a bit flimsy but this does not affect the way the unit functions.

easy to use, confirms reading from manual scale.
Comes with a calibration weight, pouch and 3 batteries, unit takes 2 batteries at a time.

Works perfectly! If you want to get your stylus to EXACTLY the right pressure for proper tracking, to avoid distortion (too light) and to avoid damage to your records (too heavy), this is the right tool to have. It was much more accurate than the weight indicators on my tonearm counterweight.
